If you are in search of work, or looking to make a career change, the Career Center is your One Stop Shop!
We offer FREE access to our state-of-the-art employment service center designed to conncect you to the resources needed to identify and secure employment. All you need to do is to attend an orientation and complete an application to obtain the EASTBAY Works card that will give you access to similar centers in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
Career Center Resources Include:
- Over 30 computers with Internet access
- Telephones, fax and copy machines
- Extensive resource library
- Tools to assess interests, skills and values
- Listings of local, regional and national job opportunities
- 48-hour "resume critique" service
- On-site employer events, including job fairs, recruiting, testing and interviews
- Information on Bay Area training, education and support services
- Opportunities for training scholoarships
Job Search Seminars Covering the Following:
- Workshops to enhance client marketability
- Managing career and life transition
- Exploring and accessing the job market
- Developing your resume/cover letter
- Interview preparation and practice
- Using the Internet as a job search tool
- Coaching for job retention and career advancement
Basic Computer Skills Classes
Classes offered at the downtown center (1212 Broadway) as follows:
- Mondays 2pm-4pm - basic hardware and software
- Tuesdays 2pm-4pm - creating, saving and printing documents
- Wednesdays 2pm-4pm - File (document) management, online help
- Thursdays 2pm-4pm - Using the Internet for Job Search and how to sign up for a free email account
