Training Centers provide career counseling, job search assistance, and pre-employment and life skills training tailored to each participant's needs. Transportation and childcare assistance may be available to training participants. Do you qualify for free training?There are several steps to take prior to consider candidates for training. To start, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, and either recently laid-off as a result of a business closure from an Oakland-based business or be an Oakland resident. Labor Market Information is also researched to see if what you are interested in offers employment possibilities. In addition, each career path or area of interest requires certain skills that are evaluated prior to consideration for training.
