Business Services

The Oakland Career Center has assisted hundreds of businesses in meeting their hiring goals, lowering training costs and reducing staff turnover rates. Offering employers ease of access to quality human and business resources, the Career Center represents the combined resources of over 150 partners. We are a member of EASTBAY Works, a system of 13 comprehensive one-stop career centers throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties working together to advance the economic well-being of the region.

The Oakland Career Center offers businesses access to a large, diverse applicant pool, qualified to fill openings across industries, in positions from entry level to professional. Our no-fee services are individual and customized; employers are assigned to the Business Services team who assess needs and devise a comprehensive strategy.

Services include:

• Internet job posting resources at EASTBAY Works Online and space in the Career Center to post job listings

• Information about tax incentives, wages and benefits, employment trends and other issues and events of interest to businesses, available through direct contact with a Business Services Representative

• Candidate recruitment, assessment, screening and referral

• Employee retention and skills development

• Customized and On-the-Job training assistance

• Current labor market information

• Lay-off assistance, including State compliance requirements

• On-site recruitments and interviewing of candidates

• Meeting and interview facilities
